The machine that promises comfort has always been honest about where the heat goes. It does not disappear, it is rejected outward, into the street, into the air, into the sky above the rooftop. Heat Rejection opens the casing of that logic: the housing of an air conditioning unit, stripped of its cover, becomes a display cabinet for the city it simultaneously cools and overheats.
The infrastructure we hide behind the air-con and quiet compressors so that the interior can feel controlled. This work refuses that concealment. The city is inside the machine that is heating it, making the management of temperature feel domestic, neutral, even comforting, while externalizing its ecological cost onto the urban body.
