The machine that keeps us comfortable is also the one we never look inside.
A domestic air conditioner has been opened and left mid-metamorphosis, its casing peeled back to reveal a tangle of black tubing that reads as much like viscera as ventilation. Behind the fan, a small screen loops footage of a city skyline, so that the unit appears to be breathing an image of the outside world back into the room it serves. The work treats climate control as an intimate, almost bodily infrastructure: something we depend on so completely that its interior has become unthinkable, until it starts to look back.
