A precise steel-and-brass pendulum sits beside a raw stone fitted, almost apologetically, with a small mechanical spike. two very different solutions to the same problem of staying upright. Placed together on a tabletop, they read like specimens from two different disciplines, engineering and geology, each trying to describe stability in its own vocabulary. The smallest piece in the group, it functions as a kind of footnote to the rest of the exhibition, a reminder that balance is always a negotiation, never a given.
